                Principles of Posture Analysis

Posture analysis is an essential tool for health professionals to evaluate and diagnose
musculoskeletal disorders. It involves the assessment of body alignment, muscle tone,
and joint mobility to identify underlying causes of pain or dysfunction. In this chapter,
we will discuss the principles of posture analysis that health professionals should

consider when conducting a thorough assessment.

                1. Postural Alignment

Postural alignment refers to the position of the body in relation to gravity. It is
important to assess the alignment of the head, shoulders, hips, and feet to determine if
there is any deviation from the ideal posture. Deviations from ideal posture can lead to
muscle imbalances, joint stress, pain and negative impacts on overall health.
