Posture analysis is a critical component of many elds of healthcare, including
physiotherapy, chiropractic, and sports medicine. It involves the evaluation of a
patient's posture, movement patterns, and biomechanics to identify areas of
dysfunction or pain. However, the validity and reliability of posture analysis techniques

have been a topic of debate in the healthcare community. In this subchapter, we will
explore the research evidence on the validity and reliability of posture analysis
                techniques.

The rst step in evaluating the validity and reliability of posture analysis techniques is
to de ne these terms. Validity refers to the accuracy of a measurement or tool in
assessing what it claims to measure. Reliability, on the other hand, refers to the

consistency of a measurement or tool over time and across different raters.
