Forward Head Posture
Forward Head Posture
Forward Head Posture (FHP) is a common postural deviation that affects a majority of
people, especially those who spend long hours sitting in front of a computer or
hunched over a smartphone. FHP is characterized by the forward displacement of the
head in relation to the neck and shoulders, resulting in a loss of the normal curvature of
the cervical spine. This deviation is associated with a range of musculoskeletal
disorders, including neck pain, headaches, and shoulder pain.
A new condition known as Tech Neck affects those addicted to staring at mobile
devices for long periods of time, literally molding the head and neck into FHP.
