About the Author

In 1994 Dr. Joseph Ventura released Posture Pro, the rst digital posture analysis

software for Windows. With Posture Pro and a digital camera the clinician could
now take static pictures of AP & Lat posture, click on anatomical landmarks and plot
deviations from normal while assigning distances and forces. Dr. Ventura developed
an algorithm to combine this numbers into a single number that represented the

postural distortions summary for the patient. He called that value The Posture
Number. A normal Posture Number value is 0. Using Posture Pro a clinician can
quickly assess the overall distortions and using the Posture Number can develop a
course of action and use the same software to track progress. These are some of

the reasons Posture Pro continues to be a leader in the eld.

Dr. Ventura received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree

from Cleveland Chiropractic College in 1978. While in
private practice he started teaching electrotherapy
seminars for the Mentor Corp, a leading TENS
manufacturer. In 1986 his new company, Ventura
Medical Electronics, released the rst FDA cleared

AXION microcurrent machine. Since then, Dr. Ventura
has been a leader in microcurrent development and
education. His current projects include clinical research

using microcurrent signals for stem cell recruitment
                                               and differentiation.
